Audit

Auditing is a key component of any project that is often not considered until after the project has gone live, or generally as an afterthought as the project progresses. Enisus has been involved with various aspects of project audit, both from internal company audit teams and also external auditors, in particular where the project has involved Finance data migration with multiple billion Euro transactions.
As well as auditing the project documentation suite, trackers and issue/risk/action logs, both internal and especially external auditors will also carefully review the Data Reconciliation reporting and where necessary resolutions. It is critical that every single data record that is extracted, or has been provided on extracts, from the legacy system is accounted for.
Reconciliation reports should be simple to read and should clearly identify any data records that have been dropped (legitimately or otherwise), the approvals for dropping them or the solution to correcting them if they still need to be in the target system (such as manual migration). Any records that have dropped in error need an action log and need to be tracked through to resolution. Any records that have been generated due to future state system requirements over legacy should also be captured and explained.
For finance migrations, the General Ledger and all sub ledgers (Payables, Receivables and Purchasing etc.) must balance between legacy and the target system, in the correct periods where the migration occurred. For payroll migrations, employee level and overall total (Period and YTD) balance checks (net, gross, deductions) should be made between the two systems. It goes without saying that all files for all projects should have basic record count validation (extract + errors = loaded).
Auditing is an area that Enisus has been deeply involved with, consistently scoring a Green status following audit reviews from global organisations such as PWC. We would be happy to review your existing document suite with focus on reconciliation approaches to ensure you receive a smooth audit at your project completion.
